Preston has been ranked the best place in the North West of England to live and work.
Professional services network PriceWaterhouseCoopers and think tank Demos ranked Preston best in the North West, outranking Manchester and Liverpool, due to our town's low cost of living and the transport links to the rest of the region.
Parliamentary Spokesperson Neil Darby said,
"Although it's nice to hear someone else say it, anyone who lives here knows Preston is the best place in the region.
"We've got so much hidden history, a reasonable cost of living, and many hi-tech employers located nearby, as well as a fantastic university and dynamic student community."
Lib Dem Leader Tim Farron said,
"People need to know that Preston isn't great because it's close to Manchester, or it's close to Liverpool.
"It's great because it's Preston. It's my home town, and I love it to pieces."
