Happy Lancashire Day! Today marks the day of the year where we can show off all that's great about the Red Rose County!

To help celebrate, we've prepared 10 facts for you!

  10. Prestonian Edith Rigby was one of the first people in the world to fight for the right for women to vote!

Of the celebrations, Councillor Neil Darby said,

"Lancashire Day is a great chance to reflect on our pride in our County. We have a proud history - for example, leading the world in the industrial revolution.

"And we have to potential to lead the world again with the right leadership.

"Today is a day to advertise Lancashire to the world and encourage them to come to visit our world class cities, our beautiful countryside, and invest in our local businesses."
