"I am delighted and honoured to be standing to represent the people of Preston in this election. I will be fighting to protect our jobs, our services, and our standard of living - all under threat from this Tory Brexit government.
"It is important that we have an MP who will hold the government to account as we ensure that the UK gets the right deal as we negotiate to leave the EU. Once we know the terms of this deal, the Liberal Democrats have pledged to hold a referendum on the terms of this deal. We want the final say to come from the people - not by decree from the smoke-filled rooms of Downing Street.
"As a city councillor, I have been shocked and appalled by the level of waste we have seen from Labour running our local councils. As a result of their financial mismanagement, we are at real risk of losing our city's prized assets in the near future as the money runs out. I will work as your MP to hold Labour at Town Hall to account, to protect Preston.
"Under this Tory government, we have seen the NHS starved of funding. Nowhere is that more true than in the state of our mental health services. I will stand alongside the thousands of people in Preston who have, or who know or care for someone who has, mental health issues."
