Lib Dem Candidates Remain Firm in Preston

The Liberal Democrat candidates for Preston, and Wyre & Preston North have remained firm in our share of the vote. Additionally, our Fylde candidate did better than 2015!

Both Neil Darby (Preston) and John Potter (Wyre and Preston North) won over 1,000 votes, and Freddie van Mierlo (Fylde), the candidate for Lea ward, increased his vote share by a whopping 35%!

Neil said,

"Thank you to everyone who everyone who put their trust in me in this election. I am proud that we put forward a vision for Preston and the country which was positive. We will continue to put forward the case for an open, tolerant and united society."

John said,

"Elections are unusual beasts at the moment with unpredictable results across the country. We had three great local candidates who really care about the area and more importantly they aren't going anywhere so the future is very bright for the Liberal Democrats."

We would like to congratulate Neil, John and Freddie for their incredible results, and we would also like to thank everybody who put their faith in our amazing candidates. Now, a few days of rest before we get back out there: working for you, all year round!
